Raymond was born in Woonsocket on May 13, 1922 son of Armand and Louise, nee Tellier, Peloquin. he was one of eight children. Raymond attended the St. Ann School, Woonsocket Junior High and Woonsocket Senior High.

Raymond served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a private first class in the 329th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division. He fought with distinction in five battle campaigns in the European Theatre: Normandy, Brittany, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.He was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Star, with cluster. He was one of 100 men of the 83rd who accepted the surrender of an entire German division (20,000 troops) in August, 1944 in France. Raymond was very proud of his ancestral homeland, France. He eventually returned to Normandy and the village in which he fought and was warmly greeted by his French "Cousins". Raymond spoke fluent French and often times during the War and afterwards served there as an interpreter. He returned home in 1945.

Raymond was employed at the Berger Wool Company as a wool sorter. He also worked at Texas Instrument in Attleboro as an inspector. He never married. he was a great family member and was clearly loved by all. He was a great citizen!

Raymond died on February 16, 1996 at the age of 73 and buried at the family plot at St. Jean-Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham, MA.
