Roger was born in Woonsocket on January 19, 1930 to Armand Marie Louise, nee Tellier Peloquin. He was one of eight children. He graduated the 9th grade from St. Ann's School. Roger entered the work force at age 16. He worked first as a wool sorter at the Star Carbonizing Mill from 1945-1960.
Roger was a US Army Corporal during the Korean War from 1951-1953. Upon his return he did earn a GED and went on to attend college classes at night and on Saturdays. He earned an Associate's Degree from Roger Williams College in 1958 and a BS degree from Northwestern University in 1963. He went on to study for his Master's at URI. He was awarded his Master's in 1968.
in 1965 he married Sophie Nichola of Woonsocket at St. Ann's Church. They had two children, a son named Donald and a daughter named Paula.
Roger's life centered on his family. Education was very important not only for himself but for his children as well. He served on numerous civic commissions during his lifetime. Roger died at age 58 on June 7, 1988.
